SFH VS. KHS

This year, I moved from Edmond to Kingfisher. I used to go to Edmond Santa Fe High School, which was one of the biggest schools in Edmond. When I moved to Kingfisher, I was worried that I wouldn’t like being in such a small school.

There are many differences between these two schools. Santa Fe is huge; my class alone there was close to 600 students! My class is about 75 here in Kingfisher, which is considerably smaller than my old school. Every classroom was up to 40 students, and here we have about 20 students per class. Santa Fe has designated parking spots for every driving student, and here we have free parking, excluding senior parking. There were so many students at Santa Fe that there were four different lunch lines to stand in. Here, it is less crowded, and easier to find a seat. You had to get to football games two hours early to get a good seat, and here you can come thirty minutes prior to the start and you’ll find a good seat. Santa Fe had great school spirit and amazing sporting events, and an impressive music department, but Kingfisher makes you feel like you’re at home, even if you’re the new girl in school. Everyone is friendly and helpful, and the family feel makes you want to stay. The teachers are patient, and everything is individualized. Santa Fe was fun, but that doesn’t mean that KHS can’t be even better.
